‘Jackie’ on 14 not 15

Instead of 15th October 2010 the highly expected Kannada film of Poornima Enterprises’ (Dr Rajkumar family’s banner) 78th film of ‘Jackie’ starring super power star Puneeth Rajkumar and Bhavana in the lead roles is releasing on 14th – Thursday says Raghavendra Rajkumar, the pillar of Dr Rajkumar family.

On Friday the U/A certificate without any cuts was sanctioned by regional censor board and the official announcement was also made after obtaining the certificate.

Thursday is the day most of the films of Dr Rajkumar’s family productions have released in the past. This time it happens to be most auspicious because Dasara festival is in progress. Thursday ‘Sapthami’ according to the Hindu calendar the day after ‘Saraswathi Pooja’ of Navarathri and a day before the Durgashtami is very special for people of Karnataka wherever Dasara festival is celebrated.

On this special day, comes ‘Jackie’ on silver screen - a combination of Dhuniya fame director Soori and super power star Puneeth Rajkumar.

Two songs for ‘Jackie’ were shot in Rome, Italy and Austria by cameraman Sathya Hegde. Most part of the talkie of ‘Jackie’ was shot in Bangalore by director Soori.

All the songs in ‘Jackie’ – ‘Shiva Antha Hogutidde….Yakka Raja Rani Nanna Kaiyolage…’ (on top of the chart today) ‘Eradu Jadeyannu…..Edavattaithu……Jackie…’ the title track are penned by renowned director of Kannada cinema Yogaraj Bhat.

In the music direction of V Harikrishna, some of the top singers Sonu Nigam, Shreya Goshal, Tippu, Khailash Kher, Navin Madhav have lent their voice. Puneeth Rajakumar and Priya Himesh jointly sung another popular song in the film ‘Edavattaithu…’.

‘Jackie’ has Deepu S Kumar doing the editing, Shashidhar Adapa doing the art direction, Harsha, Imran and Ganesh in charge of the choreography while Ravi Verma and Different stunt directors form the major credit for the film.

Director Soori has written the story, screenplay and dialogues for this film.

In the supporting cast are Sumithra, Rangayana Raghu, Honnavalli Krishna, Ravi Kaale, Satyajith, Shobaraj, Raju Thalikote, Bullet Prakash, Sampath, Umesh, Ravikiran, Siddaraju, Harshika, Nisha, Chandru, Petrol Prasanna, Sushma Biradar and Apoorva.
